Using the fuller approach in reading is the most common way nowadays. It is a combination of the alphabet, phonics and whole methods of teaching word recognition. It requires the reader to first acquire the skills of familiarizing the names and sounds of letters in the alphabet. Building vocabulary is also one of the focuses of this approach.
