In this modern or digital era where children are exposed to gadgets and other electronic devices, penmanship or handwriting skills can be difficult to improve. Other devices have features like voice command or voice recognition, with just your voice you will be able to encode texts without even touching or pressing anything. This is just one of the major hindrances of why children nowadays have very poor penmanship skills.

Despite the advancement of technology in society, it is still important to teach and guide our little ones to write and improve their handwriting skills. Here are some of the reasons why you should teach your kids to improve their penmanship:

1. Children who improve their penmanship also improve and prolong their patience. Based on a study, kids who are too much exposed to gadgets can lose their patience quickly, they become demanding and often times commit tantrums. With handwriting, they learn to calm themselves as they follow the lines on the papers and for their texts to look better.

2. Handwriting also enhances their ability to appreciate the essence of the texts. Children who write down information about anything can grasps the gist of the information more precisely as they write it.

3. It brings them closer to their friends and develops human relationships. Writing along with your friends can be pretty exciting. You can engage in some conversation while writing and share something about the texts. One can also guide another which makes human relationships even better.

4. It can boost their confidence. Once a kid learns to be patient while writing, it will then lead to being confident of what he or she achieved. It feels good to see your own handwriting on a piece of paper, more so if it really looks neat and good. Parents and teachers will be very appreciative of anyone who puts efforts in the handwriting which reflects their determination and patience.
