POEMS for GRADE 6 LEARNERS (Free Download)
The importance of reading comprehension is stressed at this grade level. This is the culmination of the reading skills the learners acquired from primary grade levels to intermediate. The learners' ability to read longer articles, stories, and other forms of reading materials shall be tested as well as their comprehension skills.
As Aldous Huxley said, "Every man who knows how to read has it in his power to magnify himself, to multiply the ways in which he exists, to make his life full, significant and interesting."
Grade 6 learners will be also be expected to write down his or her opinion and judgment on the materials read. They can now express their feelings towards texts and create useful conservation to discuss their thoughts. Their reading skills and comprehension level shall also define how well they perform in other subjects. It shall be the gateway to accumulate and learn even more things outside their comfort zones and establish good reading habits.
