Reading Comprehension Materials for GRADE 2 (Free Download)

Grade 2 learners are still into visual learning. They tend to focus more on materials with pictures or representations. It is one way to capture their attention and keep them motivated all throughout the reading experience.

When children enter the 2nd grade, they are expected to improve their reading comprehension skills and be able to understand and comprehend the materials they read or even the materials that are read to them. In a continuous manner, they should be given materials that are similarly constructed like of grade 1 but are more interested and challenging.

Furthermore, these children should be able to engage with other forms of reading materials to widen their understanding and increase their interest in reading. 2nd graders will also be guided as they enter the new set of reading materials for new skill sets and reading experience.

The following materials contain short reading stories with questions that will check their reading understanding and comprehension. Please guide and assist your learners or kids in reading and answering these questions to make sure that they stay on track and they get the support they need. These are only supplementary materials that may be of help to your learners/kids.
