Over 19 million learners are now enrolled for SY 2020-2021

The Department of Education has reported that over 19 million students are already enrolled for this school year 2020-2021, as of July 8, 2020.

According to DepEd's data, 18,077,857 learners are enrolled in public schools and around 913,591 are enrolled in private schools. 

Here is the detailed break down of the DepEd's enrollment as of July 8, 2020:

Kindergarten: 1,254,227

Elementary: 9,433,884

Junior High School: 6,008,577

Senior High School: 2,046,894

Learners with Disabilities (Non-Graded): 49,455

Alternative Learning System: 219,256

TOTAL: 19,012,293

This number is still expected to increase as the deadline for remote enrollment has been adjusted up to July 15, 2020. DepEd sais that this is to accommodate those who are still willing to enroll their children in school via SMS, call, email, online messaging, or through dropbox located at their barangay or catchment areas.
