PHONICS Reading Materials
Teaching phonics to our learners is important as it is basically the sounds of each letter in a word
When we teach our learners the correct phonics, we are literally guiding them to read unfamiliar words by simply decoding each letter-sound and read it as a whole. As a result, learners build confidence and develop the love and urge for reading which in the end will benefit them the most.
For us, teachers, it will be a relief knowing that our learners are able to read and write especially in rural places where support is at least. Proper reading can lead to a faster understanding of the words they read.
Now that we are under this certain crisis, it is vital that we ask parents and other concerned individuals to voluntarily guide and assist their learners as they go through the self-learning materials. Learners at the intermediate level can accomplish these learning materials/modules as most of them are already good or independent readers. However, learners at the primary level will surely need assistance from parents, relatives, or concerned individuals in order for them to properly accomplish the given self-learning materials.
