Teaching learners how to read is a tough responsibility. It will require you have more patience and more ways and strategies to be able to build a good reading foundation. Many teachers know this, that in order to develop the good reading skills of your learners they must prepare a systematic technique where learners will be more encouraged to learning how to read. This means that they should have good sets of reading materials that are attractive enough for them to stay motivated.
After learners become good in reading words, phrases, and sentences. It's time to guide them to understand what they are reading or other words, developing their comprehension skills. Now, this is when things get a little more interesting, many learners struggle when it comes to comprehension. Even learners in higher grade levels often times find it hard to get the entire meaning of what they are reading. Thus, teachers and parents should come into play. As simple as it sounds, constant practice and consistent guidance from the teachers and parents are all that they need in order to succeed in this aspect. Not to mention the use of appropriate reading materials that would ignite their critical thinking skills in answering the comprehension-check questions.
Please take note that these worksheets are only supplemental to the official materials your learners are going to use for this school year. You can modify this or add more worksheets to make it even more effective. It is our mission to help you, our fellow teachers, in the preparation phase so that you can be focused on the teaching and learning process itself.
